The fragile limpet shell is about the thickness of a fingernail but is very brittle, it is coloured green with pale brown rings.

They can be found under small and large rocks on semi-exposed coastlines. Fragile limpets although usually smaller and more cryptic live in a greater range of habitats than some of the more common limpets.

Grazes on algae on the rocks.
