Identification:

This is a medium sized brachiopod, (max length 40mm) roughly oval in outline, covered in moderately weak growth lines.

Habitat:

Widespread in Southern NZ, attached to rocks low on the shore and in crevices.

Diet:

A filter feeder using a specialised ciliated band called a lophophore.
