Medium sized shell with conical shape and convex rounded whorls. The shell is light brown with numerous closely spaced spiral reddish brown ribs with rounded cream coloured beads on them.


Common on rock surfaces on moderately to highly exposed rocky coasts.Smaller animals are more commonly found under boulder and other shelter. Found from the low intertidal to 100m but most common at 5-25m


Feeds on hydroids and octocorals.
