The column of the anemone is a bright apricot/orange colour covered in white dimples, the base and tentacles are more cream.


It is endemic to New Zealand and has only been described from the East Coast of the South Island.
Found from 4m to unknown depths, this anemone is very common in the bryozoan beds off the Otago Coast.


Predator.


The apricot anemone is known to be viviparous and young anemones can sometimes be found in the body cavity.
