This large sea star is dull blue or brown in colour, with bright orange tube feet.
Found from low tide on exposed coastlines to 150 m deep.
Not a fussy eater! Has been known to prey on chitons, paua, crustaceans, sea tulips, and other stars. Large specimens can even catch fish!
