This sea weed is brick red to brown and has rigid, upright forked branchlets. It feels rubbery to the touch. It reaches about 80mm in height.
Found near moss weed (Bostrychia arbuscula) on semi proteced shores in southern south island, but can be found at high tide in Fiordland.
A producer using the sun for photosynthesis.
