This has a long tubular, mainly unbranched stipe that can be up to 6 cm long. It feels firm and is a grassy to dark green in colour.

Intertidal attached to rocks, shells or other hard substrate. It prefers sheltered bays, harbour or estuaries.

A producer using the sun for photosynthesis.
