This crab is covered with bumps and hooked bristles like velcro to which it adds seaweed. Under the seaweed the carapace is brown/orange sometimes quite dark red. The slender claws are greenish brown with white fingers.
Can be found in rock pools and seaweed at and below low tide. It is most common at depths to 50m.
THis crab mainly eats seaweed but will eat small invertebrates. It is more active at night.
