Identification:

A large, solid shell with fairly fine consentric lines. It is shiny white to light pinkish brown on the outside and porcelain white to light purplish inside.

Habitat:

Semi protected to open shore. Buries in fairly fine sand. Can tolerate some silt. Found from the low intertidal to at least 10m.

Diet:

Filter feeder on Plankton.

Lifestyle:

Broadcast spawner.
