Branched like a fern, branchlets have colourless tips. Attached by a rough textured grey-green stolon, which may form a tangled mat. Colour is bright green and texture firm.


Subtidal to considerable depths, on rocks, coarse pebbles and shell rubble. Open coasts.


Uses the sun's energy.
