The gills are flower-like and are used both for respiration and filter feeding. The tube is white and tapered and has a keel running along the upper edge.


Found from mid to low tide on rocky shores, usually between the barnacle and mussel bands.


As filter feeders they use the gills to filter plankton out of seawater
